The Android installation medium we have downloaded is a CD image. We now have to load the CD image in a virtual CD drive on our virtual machine. Click on the Settings button on the top, select Storage and click on the empty device with the little CD icon on the left.

Now click on the CD icon on the right and select Choose a virtual CD/DVD disk file to select the CD image.

A Finder window will appear. Just locate the android-x86-4.4-RC2.iso in your Download folder and select the file. You will now have a virtual CD in your virtual CD drive.
